Badam Halwa Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup almonds (badam)
  • ½ cup Pure A2 Gir Cow Ghee
  • ¾ cup sugar (adjust as needed)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 8–10 saffron strands
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • Chopped pistachios or almonds (for garnish)

Method

Step 1: Soak the Almonds

Soak 1 cup almonds in hot water for about 1 hour.
Peel off the skin and keep the almonds ready.

Step 2: Make Almond Paste

Blend the peeled almonds with 1 cup milk to make a smooth paste.

Step 3: Heat Pure Ghee

Heat ½ cup pure ghee in a heavy-bottom pan on low flame.

Step 4: Cook the Almond Paste

Add the almond paste to the pan and cook slowly, stirring continuously.

Cook for 15–20 minutes until the mixture thickens and turns aromatic.

Step 5: Add Sugar and Saffron

Add sugar and saffron strands to the mixture.
Mix well until the sugar dissolves completely.

Step 6: Add Cardamom Powder

Add cardamom powder for flavor and stir nicely.

Step 7: Cook Until Done

Continue cooking until the halwa becomes glossy and starts leaving the sides of the pan.

Step 8: Garnish and Serve

Garnish with chopped pistachios or almonds.
Serve warm for the best taste.
